One of my favorite bloggers announced last week that she will be taking a break from her blog and spending time with her family. Although it is not certain when she will return, I am a little sad to see her go. She is an inspiration for us bloggers and always brings a smile to my face with her posts on love.
Reading her farewell made me think of the time I almost gave up on my blog completely. Maintaining a blog is a lot of work. It can really cut into your family and personal time, so I can see why Carmen has decided to take some time off. You go, girl!
I thought of giving up a few times, mainly in the beginning when the only person following me was Jeff. With time a couple of my mommy friends from high school and college were following along. It was exciting to hear how much feedback I was getting, but after some time I started to think of new ways to not only update my friends but also offer tips for moms who do not know me. Everyone that has ever read my blog has given me the strength to move forward, and for that I am very thankful.
I have highlighted my thoughts on my wonderful blogging journey in a recent post. Click on this image to read about it.
The first time I thought of giving up was back in April. There were even periods of time when I would post once or twice a week because I had no inspiration to write. Shortly after thinking things through I received a box from Influenster. It was the VivaVoxBox. I missed the email notifying me that I have been invited to join this campaign.
I had given this campaign my all: reviewed the products with my honest and personal opinion; shared it across my social sites; and even spoke about the products with friends. I was determined to spread the word about these products. My efforts did not go unnoticed, and with time I unlocked several of the brand badges. I was even recognized as one of the top 10 NYC New York Color brand badge holders. The company sent me a prize for sharing my thoughts on the NYC New York Color City Proof Lip Color.
On the same week I received the prize Influenster invited me to participate in the Johnson’s #NoMoreTangles campaign. I was excited to review this line because I already use their products with my family.
Blogging has been a great way to keep me mentality stimulated and also meet other moms. I even attended my first mommy-and-me event and made a new friend. We actually had a play date at the beach this past Saturday.
Although this is not where I pictured myself at 25, I am very excited to continue this blogging journey. Who knows where this will take me! ;)
I hope you are having a wonderful Monday.
